Following the Moonroad
Songs of Refuge and Remembrance

QVE and cellist Nathan Cook present a concert for Remembrance Day that speaks boldly and profoundly to our present situation as a human family.

QVE is proud to present the NL premiere of "Following the Moonroad" by Canadian composer Christine Donkin — a powerful new work for choir and cello, with texts by Lozan Yamolky, Connie Braun, and George Elliott Clarke. Through the words of a refugee, a child of refugees, and a descendant of refugees, this compelling work speaks of seeking refuge from danger, imprisonment, and conflict in search of safety, freedom, and peace. The concert will also feature themes of home and hope in selections by Josef Rheinberger, Don Macdonald, Stephen Paulus and James Woodhall.
